Software Developer Engineer

Location Details: Serbia, Remote.

Our team builds and operates critical security and performance infrastructure that protects millions of websites worldwide. We work across the full technology stack to deliver scalable, resilient systems that help small businesses succeed online. This is a remote-first, collaborative engineering team focused on impact, ownership, and continuous improvement.

What you'll get to do...

• Build end-to-end features across the stack, developing React user interfaces and backend services using Go or Python.
• Design, develop, and maintain APIs and deploy services on AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Debug production issues, implement automated testing, and improve system reliability and performance.
• Contribute to security-focused infrastructure, including web firewall capabilities, CDN technologies, and DDoS protection mechanisms.
• Collaborate with engineers across the US, Canada, Brazil, and Serbia using agile practices, peer code reviews, and modern development tools.
• Own your work from design and implementation through deployment, documentation, and ongoing maintenance.
• Contribute to platform modernisation efforts and adopt new technologies where appropriate.
• Build solutions that directly improve the security and performance of millions of customer websites.

Your experience should include...

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with at least one backend programming language such as Go, Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Experience building frontend applications using React or a similar modern JavaScript framework.
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
• Experience working with web technologies, including HTTP, REST APIs, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Experience writing unit tests and troubleshooting production issues.
• Familiarity with Git workflows and collaborative development practices.

You might also have...

• Experience working with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, API Gateway, S3, or CloudFront.
• Experience with Docker and containerisation.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Familiarity with serverless architecture patterns.
