Halls Cold Chain Logistics is a leader in temperature-controlled transport across New Zealand, and we’re looking for a skilled Logistics & Fleet Lead – South Island to join our Christchurch team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a pivotal role ensuring our fleet runs safely, efficiently, and reliably within the Halls network.

About the Role

As the Logistics & Fleet Lead – South Island at Halls, you will take ownership of managing our Christchurch-based fleet and shared long-haul units. You’ll work closely with Dispatch, our National Fleet team, service providers, and local suppliers to keep our vehicles compliant, well-maintained, and ready for service.

You will be the go-to fleet expert at Halls within the South Island — guiding operational decisions, supporting the team with your vehicle knowledge, and ensuring our equipment is always fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all servicing, COFs, and legal compliance requirements across the Halls fleet.
• Work collaboratively with Dispatch to schedule maintenance and repairs while maintaining fleet availability.
• Understand fleet configuration and run requirements to provide operational guidance and replacement options during downtime.
• Lead with technical knowledge of vehicle combinations, permits, operational usage, and fridge motors.
• Partner with service providers to ensure timely and high‑quality maintenance outcomes.
• Manage repair and maintenance costs across the fleet.
• Coordinate with the National Fleet team and branch leaders to meet equipment needs.
• Transport vehicles to and from local suppliers as required.
