Caring Caller Team Leader

It's easy to become isolated when partners and friends pass on or when family members don't live close by. And if you're unable to get out or you're unwell, it can be hard to meet people. Just having someone ask about your day can make all the difference to how you're feeling. Looking forward to a good conversation can really brighten up the day.

Our Caring Caller programme is a telephone friendship service. We match volunteers with clients around the country who would benefit from regular connection.

This volunteer Team Leader position is integral in ensuring our programme provides both our volunteers and clients with a seamless experience, by supporting our incredible Caring Caller volunteers. We are looking for a new Team Leader to support our Ashburton team). The role involves:

• Attraction, recruitment, and training of new volunteers
• Providing support and mentoring advice to your team of volunteers
• Ensuring all clients are receiving compatible matches that are meeting their needs
• Providing reporting to relevant St John staff
• Maintaining strong relationships with local Area Committee  and attend meetings as required/invited
• Organising recognition events, meetings, and training for the team
