What you'll do
· Perform parts finishing work for high-touch aircraft switch and bezel machined parts, including finishing of black anodized parts pre- and post-anodizing.
· Perform sanding, soda blasting, and fine detailing of small parts; conduct wet sanding as required.
· Use compressed air to clean parts and perform thorough visual inspections.
· Assist the engineering department with prototype, part modification, and fixture projects as directed.
· Read and interpret technical drawings in English.
· Maintain all quality and safety standards; keep work area clean at all times.
· Support other departments as needed.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings in English.
· Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to find practical, hands-on solutions.
· Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team setting.
· Able to perform repetitive tasks with sustained focus, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
· Additional technical or vocational training in finishing techniques.
· Transferable skills from autobody repair, automotive detailing, or automotive painting.
· Familiarity with blueprints/drawings, AS9100 quality control, ESD requirements, and 5S methodology.
· 2+ years with freestanding or benchtop power tools (drill press, belt/disc sander, media blast cabinet, router, etc.).
· 2+ years with industrial adhesives and materials (epoxy, polyurethanes, silicone, acrylics, color dyes/pigments).
· 3+ years of hand fabrication/finishing of customer-facing parts where cosmetic excellence is critical.
