What Your Days Look Like
You’ll provide nursing support within the school setting, including:
- Providing 1:1 nursing care for a student with complex health needs, supporting independence and safe participation in the school day
- Monitoring health status and managing chronic conditions according to individualized care plans
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Assessing and responding to illness, injuries, or medical emergencies during the school day
- Maintaining accurate health records and documenting care provided
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to support student health plans, including IEPs and 504 plans
- Serving as a health resource for the school community and providing guidance or training to staff as needed
Program Details
- Small program with approximately 30 students
- Emotionally impaired school setting
- Primary responsibility is supporting one middle school–aged student who requires ongoing chronic disease management during the school day

The (Required) Qualifications
To practice safely and compliantly, we do need:
- Active, unrestricted Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience working with pediatric patients, school settings, or chronic disease management preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with middle school–aged students
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) within 90 days of hire
- Background check and fingerprinting will be required for this role
