As an AOD Registered Nurse, you’ll play a critical role in delivering holistic, person-centred care within a multidisciplinary team environment.

In this role, you will:

As an AOD Nurse, you will be part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team providing person-centred, high-quality, and safe care to individuals in detention with alcohol and other drug-related needs. You will conduct comprehensive AOD assessments, develop and implement care plans, deliver brief interventions, support withdrawal management, and monitor progress.

This is a great opportunity to work across a range of AOD services, including harm reduction, health promotion, medication administration, and psychoeducation. You'll be delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a trauma-informed environment that respects the rights, culture, and dignity of every individual.

Let’s talk about you!

You’re a confident, compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in alcohol and other drug health. You bring a holistic approach to care, thrive in multidisciplinary teams, and are comfortable working in complex and dynamic environments. 

You are an AHPRA Registered Nurse (General unrestricted registration) with at least five (5) years of clinical experience, including direct patient care in alcohol and other drug (AOD) (non-Telehealth).

A postgraduate qualification in Alcohol and Other Drugs at AQF Level 8 or higher and/or significant demonstrated AOD nursing experience is highly regarded.
