Job Overview

About the role

  • As Heggerty’s curriculum and digital subscriptions continue to grow, ensuring a seamless and proactive renewal experience for our existing customers is more important than ever. The Renewals Associate plays a critical role in supporting school districts, educators, and administrators by managing the full lifecycle of renewals with efficiency, accuracy, support, and care.
  • This role is responsible for driving timely renewals, maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, and meeting key retention goals. The Renewals Associate ensures schools have uninterrupted access to Heggerty’s literacy solutions through consistent outreach, attention to detail, and excellent customer service.  This dedication supports teachers and students year after year.
  • The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, excels at managing multiple priorities, and brings a personable, solutions-focused approach to every interaction.

What you'll do

  • Proactively engage with customers via telephone, email, and CRM tools to present renewal subscription information (draft quotes, create and process orders, digital license renewals).
  • Manage renewal and lead pipelines to prioritize high-value opportunities and optimize outreach efficiency.
  • Accurately document all customer interactions, renewal statuses, and follow-up actions in Salesforce (or equivalent CRM).
  • Respond to customer inquiries about licensing expirations, billing, and minor technical issues in a personable, customer-centric manner.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (account management, finance, product teams) to resolve customer questions, approvals, or exceptions in a timely fashion.
  • Track renewal performance metrics; identify risks to renewal targets and propose mitigations.
  • Follow up persistently to collect payments or finalize renewal orders before expiration.
  • Adapt outreach strategies and experiment with new approaches to maximize renewal success.
  • Handle seasonal peak periods with composure, maintaining high throughput and attention to detail under pressure.
  • Meet established goals (e.g., number of renewal ops closed per period) while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Curiosity, empathy, and a passion for our mission and values
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in customer-facing, renewal, or retention roles (especially in SaaS, subscription, education, or digital publishing environments).
  • Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) to manage pipelines, forecast, and log activity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively at all levels of a customer’s organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities and renewal cycles simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful—able to operate independently while collaborating cross-functionally.
  • High attention to detail and process orientation—ensuring accurate data entry, quoting, follow-through, and documentation.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability; able to assess issues and make decisions quickly (escalating when needed).
  • Capability to handle high volume, especially during peak renewal windows, while maintaining quality and responsiveness.
  • Adaptability to evolving processes, tools, or role responsibilities.
  • Experience working toward renewal performance metrics.
  • A friendly, personable approach with strong relationship-building skills — especially in a customer-facing environment.
  • Experience in education, SaaS, or subscription-based industries, particularly in renewals, account management, or inside sales roles with measurable retention or quota-based results preferred.
  • Familiarity with K–12 school district purchasing and renewal cycles, including curriculum adoption timelines and procurement processes preferred.

  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous time off options, including paid holidays and winter break
