Job Overview

This is a website designer role working within the Go-To-Market (GTM) team.

Who we are

Healthcare needs a better rhythm: one that keeps care continuous and deeply human. Heidi is building an AI Care Partner that works alongside clinicians to make that possible.

We’re a team of doctors, engineers, designers, researchers, and creatives building tools that help clinicians stay focused on what matters most: their patients.

In just 18 months, Heidi has given back more than 18 million hours to healthcare professionals — supporting 73 million patient visits in 116 countries. Today, more than two million patient visits each week are powered by Heidi worldwide.

Backed by nearly $100 million in funding, we’re growing in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe, partnering with leading health systems including the NHS, Beth Israel Lahey Health, and Monash Health.

About the Role

Join Heidi Health to craft engaging user experiences with a focus on motion design, micro-interactions, and animated UI elements using Figma, Framer Motion, and CSS animations. You'll collaborate with developers to design and prototype interactive components, maintain design systems, and bring our Heidi to life with thoughtful, accessible animations across 10+ locales, while creating a localisation asset library.

Key Responsibilities

  • Motion & Interaction Design: Own and design engaging motion systems, micro-interactions, and complex animated components (e.g., loading states, data visualisations) using principles of ease, timing, and accessibility.

  • Localisation Asset Strategy: Design for internationalisation at the forefront, ensuring visual assets, images, and component layouts are easily translatable, language-agnostic, and support multi-locale deployment (including RTL layouts).

  • AI-Aided Design: Proactively leverage AI design tools to rapidly generate concepts, refine visual assets, and create high-fidelity, polished imagery.

  • Prototyping: Create high-fidelity, animated prototypes in Figma with advanced interactive flows and specifications for implementation using Framer Motion and CSS.

  • Design System Governance: Maintain and contribute to the centralised Design System in Figma, including component libraries, design tokens, and comprehensive documentation for developer handover.

  • Cross-Device Implementation: Create fully responsive designs optimised for all breakpoints (desktop, tablet, and mobile) and ensure pixel-perfect implementation across various browsers and devices.

  • Accessibility Compliance: Ensure all designs meet WCAG accessibility standards, specifically addressing motion sensitivity and reduced motion preferences.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous design reviews and provide constructive, specific feedback to developers to maintain quality and consistency between design files and the live implementation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2-4 years of professional web design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing advanced motion design and complex responsive layouts.

  • Expert proficiency in Figma including Auto Layout, advanced variants, interactive prototyping, and component-based design.

  • Strong understanding of motion design principles, timing functions, and experience designing for web animation libraries (Framer Motion, CSS, or similar).

  • Proficiency in vector and SVG/Lottie animation workflow (or similar formats for high-performance animation).

  • Deep understanding of responsive design and mobile-first principles.

  • Knowledge of design systems, component-based design, and design tokens.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for presenting designs and working with technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience designing for internationalisation (i18n), specifically managing text expansion, RTL layouts, and minimising text in visual assets.

  • Familiarity with React component architecture and the capabilities/constraints of Next.js/Vercel.

  • Experience integrating AI-generated visuals into a professional design workflow.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) including motion sensitivity and reduced motion.

  • Experience with user research, usability testing, and data-driven design decisions.

  • Experience in healthcare or regulated industries.
