About the Role

HelloFresh Canada is seeking a highly motivated and operationally-immersed Production Sequencer for our meal kit operations, who will be the strategic backbone of our production floor. This role owns and optimizes the end-to-end weekly sequence plan to ensure we consistently meet outbound requirements and maximize line efficiency. You'll act as the operational sequencing leader, leading the charge to aggressively minimize slow changeover times and outbound misses, and driving buy-in from cross-functional teams like Production, Logistics, and Procurement.

 

Notes on schedule: 

  • The working hours for this role are: Monday to Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm
  • This is a 100% in-person role, meaning you will be required to come to our Distribution Center located at 920 36 Avenue, Unit 100, Nisku, T9E 1C6

 

What you will be doing:

  • Own and optimize the end-to-end production sequence strategy for our mealkit DCs. This includes creating weekly sequence plans that consistently meet outbound requirements and proactively identifying and actioning efficiencies to maximize throughput.
  • Enhance production line productivity through strategic resource and task allocation and support seamless changeovers to minimize downtimes.
  • Lead the charge to improve production line productivity by refining crewing strategies, driving strategic task allocation, and aggressively minimizing slow changeover times and outbound misses through continuous improvement.
  • Lead holiday planning activities and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Update in-week and future week capacity plans for multiple distribution centers across Canada.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement strategies to support continuous improvement from a production planning and sequencing mindset.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and independently implement lasting strategies to support continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, Operations Excellence and Logistics teams to align on a consensus sequence production plan and resolve any deviations from it.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for production planning-related issues, supporting root cause analysis initiatives and corrective action implementation.
  • Serve as the operational sequencing leader; proactively build buy-in and consensus across Production, Procurement, FSQA, and Logistics to resolve complex deviations and sustain a high-adherence production plan.
  • Maintain production planning tools, related master data, and supporting dashboards.
  • Track and report variances between planned and actual labour schedules.
  • Report on planning KPIs, including, but not limited to, production plan adherence, physical waste, labour planning, capacity accuracy, and cost metrics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

At a minimum, you have: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain, Operations or related fields
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Planning, Operations Management, Inventory Management or related fields
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the proven ability to create and manage complex models in Google Sheets/Excel from scratch.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments, while being able to prioritize, achieve objectives, and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while also fostering collaboration and cross-functional teamwork with stakeholders from multiple departments
  • Proven team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Would be an asset if you have:
    • ASCM certification (CSCP, CPIM)  or actively working towards
    • Experience with SAP APO PP/DS or similar scheduling software
    • Database management experience (e.g. SQL, Python, Tableau)
    • Prior experience working safely within a production facility
    • Prior experience in a fast-growing company or startup environment
    • Prior experience with meal kit delivery services
