Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Head of Area Business Management, CTO to partner with the Chief Technology Office Infrastructure organisation (CTOi) in delivering strategic, financial, and workforce objectives. The CTOi organisation manages IT services and infrastructure critical for employees and customers, including compute platforms, storage, databases, data centres, voice and data networks, infrastructure security, cloud hosted infrastructure, and end user services.

This role will initially support Cloud and Data Centre Services, which together manage a global annual operating plan of approximately $130m and a workforce of circa 300 FTE across around 65 countries. The position reports to the Head of Operations Management and works closely with Global Area Heads, Platform Leads, and senior stakeholders to enable strategic delivery and optimise customer value.

What you will do:

  • Own end-to-end Area COO activities across financial, workforce, and third-party/vendor management.
  • Support design and delivery of strategic initiatives, including development of business cases and benefit validation.
  • Lead and develop the global business management team.
  • Manage delivery against a significant annual operating plan across multiple countries.
  • Identify and deliver savings opportunities to meet financial targets.
  • Oversee workforce planning, forecasting, role requisitions, and off-boarding.
  • Set rates, manage recharges, and oversee billing to recover service costs.
  • Perform vendor management activities including risk management, performance oversight, negotiations, and competitive processes such as RFIs and RFPs.
  • Manage purchase-to-pay processes including spend approvals, purchase order creation, and invoice approvals.
  • Produce financial reporting and management information to support decision making.
  • Provide governance, challenge, and prioritisation support to optimise customer value.
  • Collaborate with Global Area Heads, Platform Leads, and senior stakeholders to deliver common objectives.
