We are seeking a proactive and experienced OSRC Flight Test & Build Operations Specialist to support multiple sites, including Atlanta, GA; Hawthorne, CA; El Segundo, CA; Spaceport America, NM; Jacksonville, FL; and additional deployed operations locations as required. This role will play a key part in supporting flight test and aircraft manufacturing activities while maintaining safety, compliance, and operational excellence. The position includes up to 50% travel to deployed test and manufacturing sites.

This role will play a key part in supporting flight test and aircraft manufacturing activities while maintaining safety, compliance, and operational excellence. The position includes up to 50% travel to deployed test and manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities:
- Support flight test and manufacturing operations, including on-site deployed locations, to ensure safe and compliant execution of activities.
- Conduct routine inspections, audits, and risk assessments across manufacturing and flight test sites to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures relevant to flight test, deployed operations, and manufacturing activities.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain environmental compliance, including chemical management, waste handling, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Flight Test, and Operations teams to provide proactive support for in-person operations at both corporate and deployed sites.
- Track key metrics and support reporting to leadership on safety, compliance, and operational performance.
- Assist with emergency response planning, drills, and deployed operations contingencies.
- Serve as a technical resource for operational teams regarding safety, health, and environmental concerns in manufacturing and flight test activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in safety, operational support, or compliance in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, train, and guide teams across multiple sites.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations in technical or operational settings.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to support deployed flight test and manufacturing operations.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CHMM, or CIH are a plus.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout manufacturing facilities, hangars, and flight test locations for extended periods of time.

Ability to climb stairs, ladders, aircraft access stands, and work platforms when conducting inspections or safety reviews.

Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to approximately 25–40 pounds as needed.

Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach when inspecting equipment, facilities, or operational areas.

Ability to work in confined or restricted spaces when conducting safety inspections or operational assessments.

Ability to travel frequently, including commercial flights and travel to remote or operational sites.

Ability to communicate clearly in operational environments, including areas with elevated noise levels while using appropriate hearing protection.
Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a variety of environments including aircraft manufacturing facilities, hangars, flight test sites, laboratories, office environments, and outdoor test locations.

Frequent exposure to active aerospace manufacturing and flight test environments, including areas with elevated noise levels, moving machinery, aircraft ground operations, fuels, chemicals, and other industrial hazards.

Work may be performed in outdoor environments and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and dust, particularly at deployed test locations.

The role requires travel up to 50% to support operations at multiple company locations and deployed flight test sites. Travel may include extended stays at remote or operational test facilities.

Work schedules may occasionally include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or extended hours to support critical test events, manufacturing milestones, or operational needs.

Must be able to work effectively in fast-paced, high-consequence operational environments where safety, schedule, and operational readiness are critical.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, hard hats, respirators, and other safety gear will be required when working in operational areas.
