About the Role

We’re looking for an exceptional and experienced Bookkeeper who can take full ownership of our internal financial operations. This person will play a key role in managing the books for a fast-growing international recruitment and staffing business.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, optimizing costs, and providing actionable insights and not just recording numbers. This role requires someone who is independent, analytical, and confident in driving outcomes without constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Handle all accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll reconciliation, and month-end closing.
  • System Expertise: Manage and maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online, Stripe, and Ramp.
  • Financial Analysis: Review and interpret financial data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for savings.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on P&L, churn, retention, and expense summaries with insights and recommendations.
  • Critical Thinking: Audit and reconcile thousands of transactions monthly, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Process Ownership: Independently manage books from start to finish, ensuring timeliness and precision.
  • Communication: Proactively communicate with leadership and cross-functional teams, presenting findings and recommendations clearly.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (preferably with US-based or staffing businesses).
  • Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Stripe, and Ramp.
  • Strong understanding of US accounting principles, payroll, and reconciliations.
  • Proven track record of managing high transaction volumes and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator — able to take initiative and drive results.
  • Highly organized, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal oversight.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with international or remote teams.
  • Familiarity with SaaS metrics, subscription models, or recruitment/staffing financial structures.
  • CPA or equivalent certification (not required but preferred).
