Senior QA Automation Engineer
Job Overview
WHAT YOU’LL DO
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer to accelerate our test automation journey and improve overall product quality. This role focuses on designing and implementing solutions using modern QA automation development frameworks. You will create and maintain automation for both functional and API testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data-driven solutions.
In this role, you’ll ensure our solutions are reliable and scalable by driving QA processes. You’ll move the team beyond manual testing by introducing automation best practices, exploring AI-assisted testing, and setting up frameworks that improve speed, coverage, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts using Robot Framework (primary) with Python.
- Develop additional automation solutions using Playwright and Selenium for UI and cross-browser testing.
- Define and implement QA automation processes, transforming a primarily manual testing team into a structured, automation-first QA practice. Documenting test processes in Qmetry.
- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and product managers to ensure comprehensive test coverage for real-time dashboards and data sources.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for faster, higher-quality releases.
- Work with test management tools such as Jira, QMetry, or similar for test case management, reporting, and defect tracking.
- Mentor and guide team members in adopting automation practices and modern QA tools.
- Document frameworks, test strategies, and QA processes to build a sustainable knowledge base.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives to align QA with development goals.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
BOX – Store performance app is a modern, digital solution for store managers at H&M, providing a simpler, faster, and more secure application to monitor and analyse store performance. Designed and developed in-house, BOX delivers a tailored and intuitive experience for our stores. The team also works on other key product solutions such as Store Locator and Time & Attendance, being developed by a dedicated group of engineers, business experts, and product manager.
As part of the team, you’ll contribute to a modern, data-driven product suite where test reliability is critical for operational excellence. The product solutions you validate handle large volumes of data and support real-time decision-making across our stores and our customers.

WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for people with:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in QA automation across functional and API testing.
- Hands-on expertise in Robot Framework with Python.
- Experience with Playwright and Selenium for UI and cross-browser testing.
- Practical exposure to AI in test automation (e.g., using GenAI/LLMs or agentic AI for test case design, test script optimization, or self-healing tests).
- Strong experience in API testing and data validation.
- Ability to establish automation frameworks and best practices from scratch.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and tools like Jenkins/GitHub Actions.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Additional Skills
- Prior experience helping teams transition from manual testing to automation.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) for test environments.
- Experience with AI-powered QA platforms (e.g., Testim, Mabl, or custom AI copilots).
- Familiarity with Docker, containers, and test environment setup.
