The House of Commons’ Digital Services and real Property is currently looking to staff the Senior Systems Technician, DMCS position.
This recruitment and selection process is restricted to House of Commons employees and Parliamentary partners - Senate of Canada, Library of Parliament, Parliamentary Protective Service, Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner and Parliamentary Budget Officer.
The Senior Systems Technician is a key member of the Digital Services and Real Property team, working in a product-centric environment. The role involves installing, maintaining, and enhancing multimedia systems and technologies, including video, audio, security, and control systems. The technician provides expert technical support, troubleshooting complex multimedia and audio/video distribution issues to ensure reliable service for the House of Commons and the Senate of Canada.
They also lead projects related to system design, implementation, and operations, providing technical direction and supervision to small project teams. The role includes analyzing processes, evaluating multimedia asset lifecycles, and recommending improvements to optimize performance.
This role requires flexibility to work outside regular hours, including evenings, weekends, shifts, and on-call as system maintenance and upgrades are often performed outside of business operations.
