Job Overview

The House of Commons’ Finance Services is currently looking to staff the Manager, Practices, Processes and Internal Controls position.

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and expert guidance in the development, implementation, and monitoring of standards, measures, and performance management. You will oversee internal financial controls and lead initiatives to improve business processes, contributing to the overall efficiency and integrity of financial operations.

A key responsibility will be to develop implement and continuously enhance a risk-based internal control framework that ensures the accuracy and reliability of financial information used in decision-making. You will also design, deliver, and maintain programs that promote the effective use of financial systems and controls, helping to safeguard the integrity of financial data across the organization.

Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure the consistent interpretation and application of policies, standards, and practices that support sound financial risk management. You will champion a culture of continuous improvement by implementing effective change management and communication strategies that foster engagement and facilitate smooth transitions to enhanced processes. This includes maintaining a seamless interface with clients and Finance Services partners.

Additionally, you will lead multi-disciplinary project teams to execute the Finance Services Operational Plan. This includes setting priorities, defining objectives and terms of reference, allocating resources, and managing project delivery to ensure alignment with timelines, budgets, and best practices.
