The Caseworker supports the Member of Parliament by managing and resolving issues raised by constituents, advocating on their behalf with federal departments, and ensuring timely, professional, and confidential service. This role involves direct engagement with the public, casework management, research, administrative support, and maintaining organized systems for tracking and resolving constituency files. The Caseworker is a key link between constituents and the MP’s Office, providing empathy, discretion, critical thinking, and high-quality service.

Casework & Constituent Support

  • Handle and respond to constituent inquiries—in writing, over the phone, and in person—with professionalism, discretion, and empathy.
  • Provide guidance, information, and support on a wide range of federal programs and services (e.g., IRCC, Service Canada, CRA).
  • Advocate for constituents by liaising with federal departments and community organizations to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential case records while ensuring compliance with data protection standards.
  • Manage casework databases, prioritize files, and ensure timely follow-up on open cases.
  • Identify trends or recurring issues within the constituency and communicate these to the MP and senior staff.

Research & Policy Support

  • Conduct research to support case resolution and broader constituency concerns.
  • Stay informed of federal guidelines, legislation, and program changes (training will be provided as needed).
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key contacts in government and community organizations.

Office & Administrative Support

  • Assist with office tasks including responding to calls and emails, processing mail, and supporting constituency office operations.
  • Attend community events and meetings with or on behalf of the Member of Parliament when required.
  • Support special initiatives or projects to improve office efficiency and service levels.

Working Conditions

  • Based in the MP’s Constituency Office; not a remote position.
  • Regular interaction with constituents, often discussing sensitive or complex issues.

Salary: $52,500 to $62,500 with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental and the public service pension plan.
