About the Role
Howard Financial is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our fast-growing global team. As a key member of our finance department, you will manage full-cycle accounting for a diverse portfolio of US-based clients.
The ideal candidate is an expert in QuickBooks Online, has a rock-solid understanding of US GAAP, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for professionals who enjoy the challenge of managing multiple accounts and can provide high-quality financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of multiple clients, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial statement preparation.
- Conduct complex bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards across all reporting and documentation.
- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management.
- Collaborate with the Senior Controller to identify process improvements and automate workflows.
- Provide clear and timely communication to clients regarding their financial health.
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (CPA or equivalent local certification is a plus).
- Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Accounting Standards: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with US GAAP.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in a similar accounting role, preferably working with US-based companies.
- English Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written communication skills (C1/C2 level).
- Work Style: High level of autonomy, "ownership" mentality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications (The "Pluses" - Not Required)
While not mandatory, experience in the following areas will be considered a significant advantage:
- Multi-Client Experience: Proven experience working in accounting firms, consultancies, or BPO environments managing various clients simultaneously.
- Industry-Specific Knowledge: Familiarity with the accounting nuances of:
- E-commerce: Inventory, sales platforms (Amazon, Shopify), and sales tax.
- Hospitality / Vacation Rentals: Property management systems and short-term rental revenue recognition.
- Real Estate: Property accounting, escrow, and real estate-specific reporting.
