What you'll be doing

You will have the opportunity to influence a business that is investing heavily in technology and automation, and continually evolving how it operates. At the same time, you will need to stay close to the people who make the business work — from senior leaders and managers through to the thousands of people who join EastPack during its peak season.

You will lead the people and safety strategy across the business, working closely with leaders to build capability and strengthen performance. Workforce planning will be a major focus, ensuring EastPack has the right people and capability for the future as automation continues to change the skills and workforce required across its operations.  With thousands of people joining the business during peak season, this is a significant operational undertaking requiring strong workforce planning, efficient processes and a recruitment model that can deliver at pace without losing the human connection.

Importantly, this is a highly visible role. You will be expected to get out amongst the business, understand what is happening on the ground and build strong relationships across a very diverse workforce. You will need to be just as comfortable challenging a decision around the leadership table as you are having a conversation with someone on the floor.

Ultimately, your role will be to make sure EastPack's people strategy isn't something that sits alongside the business strategy — it is part of it.
