This position is responsible in providing high level facility administration, ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the Artrise, Council’s new dedicated art centre, is undertaken and delivered.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Artrise, ensuring the facility is safe, clean, and welcoming.
  • Function as a dedicated liaison for anchor user licensees, theatre, artists studio and recording studio hirers
  • Administer bookings for meeting rooms and workshop areas using Council systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance and cleaning services, reporting issues promptly and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Provide on-site support for events, including assisting with bump in and bump out of exhibitions, performances, and workshops.
  • Liaise with artists, performers, and hirers to ensure technical and spatial requirements are met.
  • Support the delivery of creative workshops and programs where required, including logistics and setup.
  • Act as the first point of contact for enquiries, bookings and general information about the facility.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to tenants, casual hirers, artists, and community members.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a small team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

  • Relevant qualification and/or substantial experience in facility administration, arts or community venue management, or customer service within the local government or community sector.
  • Demonstrated high level administrative/reception and customer service skills.
  • Experience using facility booking systems (e.g., Bookable) and other Council platforms (e.g., One Council, OpenCities, TRIM).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting community development initiatives and working with diverse community groups, artists, and performers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders including artists, tenants, hirers, and community members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
