Compensation range: $1700 AUD - $2500 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: 

They are a specialised Steel Scheduling and Supply Service. Supplying Steel Reinforcement  for all types of residential, civil and commercial projects across Sydney, Australia.

Role Overview: 

We are looking for a detail-oriented Steel Scheduler who will be responsible for preparing accurate reinforcement schedules based on architectural and structural plans. The ideal candidate has strong technical understanding of reinforcement requirements, excellent plan-reading skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with builders, suppliers, and internal teams. This role is crucial in ensuring materials are delivered on time, in the correct quantities, and aligned with project milestones.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings to create precise steel reinforcement schedules.
  • Prepare detailed bar bending schedules (BBS) including bar sizes, shapes, lengths, and quantities.
  • Coordinate with engineers, builders, and project managers to clarify design details and resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage scheduling timelines to ensure on-time delivery of reinforcing steel and related materials.
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
  • Review and validate schedules prior to submission to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Provide technical support to clients regarding reinforcement solutions and best practices.
  • Update schedules in response to plan revisions, site changes, or engineering adjustments.
  • Maintain organized documentation for all schedules and revisions.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred but not required if experienced).
  • Proven experience as a Steel Scheduler, Drafter, or in a similar structural/construction role.
  • Strong knowledge of reinforcement detailing, bar bending schedules, and steel specifications.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software, CAD tools, or reinforcement detailing programs.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical plans.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with Australian Building Codes and reinforcement standards (highly advantageous).
  • Familiarity with on-site construction workflows, steel fixing, and formwork processes.
  • Knowledge of innovative or stay-in-place formwork systems.
  • Experience with rebar detailing software Citrix would be preferred but not essential.

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
