Financial Operations Analyst (UFMS / Momentum)

Job Overview

Responsibilities: 
Customer support & production operations (Tier 3) 

  • Provide Tier 3 customer support to internal stakeholders and external users, including intake, triage, investigation, resolution, documentation, and escalation of production trouble tickets. 
  • Communicate clearly with end users to validate issues, gather requirements and evidence (e.g., screenshots, error messages), and confirm resolution. 
  • Identify recurring issues and support development of repeatable playbooks/job aids to reduce ticket volume and improve turnaround time. 


Financial data extraction, reporting, and reconciliation 

  • Use MS Access and MS Excel (expert-level) to extract, analyze, and report financial data from enterprise systems and data sources. 
  • Reconcile subsidiary ledger data to underlying USSGL accounts and general ledger benchmarks; document assumptions, logic, and reconciliation results to support auditability. 
  • Leverage ODBC connectivity to connect to multiple enterprise Oracle databases to extract and accurately report general ledger–reconciled data alongside grants management data. 
  • Produce and quality-check recurring operational datasets and time-sensitive ad hoc reports, ensuring outputs are accurate, consistent, and formatted for business use. 


Financial statement support & short-deadline deliverables 

  • Apply detailed accounting knowledge and support key functions required for financial statement production, including: 
  • Grant accrual calculation and verification


Prior year up/down adjustments 

  • Accounting for reimbursable agreements 
  • Ability to produce detailed Provider Listing and Revenue Detail reports 
  • Other grant accounting support as required 
  • Produce detailed, accurate, reconciled PBCs (Provided-By-Client artifacts) associated with the functions above within very short financial statement deadlines. 


Testing, documentation, and production stability

  • Test enterprise accounting and budgetary solutions to ensure stability of production environments; execute test scripts, validate outcomes, and document results. 
  • Track test cases and prepare testing documentation that supports audit worthiness and provides actionable guidance to system programmers during enhancements and bug fixes.
