Senior AI Platform Engineer

Full-time Mid-Senior Level

Job Overview

We’re looking for a senior AI platform engineer to play a central role in operating and evolving Implement’s enterprise AI platform and internal AI applications.

What you’ll do
As our new senior AI platform engineer, you’ll take ownership of developing and running our AI platform operations, maintenance, and technical direction across Implement’s growing AI landscape.

This role is a non-consultant, hands-on, internal role for a strong technical builder with experience in full-stack engineering, generative AI, platform ownership, and cloud infrastructure.

You will drive the continued maintenance, development, and integration of Implement’s enterprise AI platform, as well as oversee and direct the technical architecture of internal AI applications, setting standards across apps, agents, and skills.

The role covers ownership of maintenance and day-to-day operations for existing AI tools, including monitoring, user management, quality assurance, and policy enforcement. You will manage the technical relationship with key vendors such as OpenAI and Anthropic and help ensure coherence and robustness across Implement’s AI tool landscape – as well as helping to qualify internal AI use cases. You will work closely with colleagues across AI, IT, and security to maintain secure, scalable, and relevant solutions.

What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone with a strong hands-on builder mindset who is comfortable shipping working solutions quickly and taking ownership. You should have sound software architecture judgement and be able to make pragmatic technical decisions that support scalability, maintainability, and fit within a broader enterprise environment.

Just as importantly, you should bring product instinct and be able to prioritise based on business value and user needs.

To succeed in this role, we would like you to have:

  • A master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including strong hands-on work in full-stack development, enterprise platforms or AI solutions
  • Experience building and deploying generative AI applications

The role also requires a structured and independent way of working, strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and the flexibility to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where priorities may shift.

You’ll likely recognise yourself – and your technical expertise – in the following:

Need-to-have:

  • Strong experience building applications end-to-end, from architecture and APIs to deployment and operations
  • Solid skills in Python, TypeScript, and modern development frameworks
  • Experience with LLM APIs, generative AI frameworks, and agent-based application patterns
  • Familiarity with RAG solutions, vector databases, and AI orchestration approaches
  • Experience with REST, FastAPI, GraphQL, or similar API technologies

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with enterprise identity and access patterns such as SSO, SCIM, and RBAC
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft and M365 ecosystem
  • Experience using AI-native development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex
  • Practical experience with Docker, Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in Azure or similar cloud environments

What we offer
As the first dedicated hire in this area, you will act as the senior technical lead in building a new and growing internal capability. While you will take the lead, you will be supported by the Business Analytics and Financial Analytics team and Implement’s broader AI hub community. Over time, we expect this capability – and the team around it – to grow with you.

Make your next move matter.

We will be conducting interviews on an ongoing basis, and it will not be possible to submit applications once we have filled the positions, so please apply ASAP.

We look forward to hearing from you!
