Full-time Mid-Senior levelJob Overview
R&D Radio frequency Electrical Engineer - High-Power & Resonant Systems
Location: Cluses, France
Company Overview :
INAUTALENT is supporting the International Space Federation (ISF), a pioneering R&D organization based in Cluses (French Alps), in strengthening its team.
ISF is at the forefront of research on gravity-control propulsion and quantum-vacuum energy, aiming at clean and sustainable energy solutions. Through international academic partnerships, ISF pushes the boundaries of fundamental physics to transform energy production and transportation while addressing global ecological challenges.
The organization operates at the intersection of relativity and quantum mechanics, exploring technologies that could redefine our understanding of the universe. Its mission: turning bold scientific concepts into tangible technologies capable of changing the world.
Job Description :
To support these ambitious developments, we are seeking a hands-on RF (Radio Frequency) & Power Electronics Engineer to take complex high-frequency, high-power systems from concept to working prototype. You will design, build, and optimize RF coils, resonant systems, power stages, and EM control electronics for next-generation experimental energy devices.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and test RF coil systems in the MHz range for power-generation applications.
- Integrate coil systems into existing and new R&D experiments.
- Design and optimize RF power amplifiers, resonant drivers, switching power stages, and EM control systems.
- Analyze performance using advanced diagnostic tools and implement improvements.
- Conduct exploratory research on coil, motor, and resonant-system innovations with a focus on efficiency and durability.
- Participate directly in cutting-edge experiments connecting theoretical physics with real-world hardware.
Requirements
Analog, RF & Power Electronics Expertise :
- Full-custom analog PCB design: LCR networks, BJT/MOSFET/FET stages, diodes, active/passive components.
- Power amplifier design (Class A, AB, D, E) and switched-mode topologies.
- Impedance-matching networks: L-networks, π-networks, transformers, matching to low-impedance loads.
- Deep understanding of passive components (X7R vs C0G/NP0, ESR/ESL behavior, parasitics, temperature/voltage coefficients).
- Practical experience designing resonant circuits and RF coils/antennas from ~100 kHz to 100 MHz.
High-Power / High-Voltage Systems :
- Experience designing half-bridge, full-bridge, or similar topologies driving extremely low-impedance/inductance loads (e.g., < 1 µH, < 10 mΩ).
- Comfortable working with kV-level systems, HV MOSFET/IGBT drivers, gate-drive isolation, creepage/clearance rules, safety standards.
End-to-End Hardware Development :
- Schematic & PCB layout (KiCad preferred; Altium/Eagle acceptable).
- SPICE simulation (LTspice, SIMetrix, PSpice).
- Generating Gerbers, managing PCB manufacturing, BOM management, component sourcing.
- Manual assembly: THT, SMD soldering, reflow, bring-up and debugging.
- Strong lab skills: oscilloscopes (including HV/current probes), spectrum analyzers, VNA, impedance analyzers, etc.
Requirements :
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in RF coil design in the MHz range.
- Solid analytical understanding of electrical circuits.
- Experience with high-voltage coil systems.
- Knowledge of advanced motor-control techniques.
- Prior experience with complex RF systems.
Benefits
- Competitive salary
- Comprehensive health insurance fully covered (employee + children)
- Performance-based bonuses
- Strong opportunities for career growth
- The chance to work on world-first, paradigm-shifting technologies
