You’ll be joining the Biometric platform for ID issuance team, a dedicated group of professionals working on ABIS* software that enables governments to prepare for elections, issue ePassports, and secure borders.

Requirements

About You:

We’re looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer to help us build, maintain, and scale our modern applications. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to contribute not only through hands-on development, but also by shaping architecture, mentoring others, and driving best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in full-stack development
  • Solid knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin, Spring Boot, and React
  • Familiarity with microservice architecture, REST APIs, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Willingness to mentor others and contribute to a strong engineering culture
  • A problem-solving mindset and a passion for building great products

Techstack:

BackEnd:

  • Micro-service built on Java/Kotlin
    • Spring Boot
  • REST API with OpenAPI specification
  • S3: MinIO used for storage of images and other data
  • DB: PostgreSQL/MSSQL/Oracle with a GraphQL layer

FrontEnd:

  • React, TypeScript
  • Frontends monorepo orchestrated with Turborepo and pnpm
    • All apps are bootstrapped with Vite
    • Vitest is used for unit tests
  • CSS: Our design system built on top of Stitches and Radix UI components

DevOps:

  • GitLab CI/CD
  • Docker, Kubernetes

Working Hours & Location:

🌍 Location: Bratislava (Hybrid)

✈️ Travel: Minimal travel may be required

Compensation:

💶 Salary gross range: €2500 – €4,700, tied to competency and technical evaluation.

Interview Process:

Here is the typical interview process for this role:

👋 Introduction Stage (~30 min.)

  • Recruiter Screen 

🧑‍💻 Team Interview Stage   (~120 min.)

We have a one single interview round that takes approximately 2 - 2,5  hours and is divided into two stages:

  • Stage 1: Technical Interview (60 min)
    An interactive session with our technical team, focusing on your problem-solving approach and technical knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Stage 2: Practical Collaboration (60~90 min)
    A hands-on session where you will work directly with our Software Engineers and Hiring Manager on a real-world problem. This is a practical, collaborative exercise designed to see how you approach challenges, communicate your reasoning, and co-create solutions in real time.

🎯 Final Stage   (~30 min.)

  • CARES Interview: Final conversation with our CARES committee to ensure alignment with our core values—Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Shared Mission.
  • Reference checks and background verification
