Associate, Restructuring & Insolvency

Full-time Entry level

Job Overview

Interpath is an international and fast-growing advisory business with deep expertise in a broad range of specialisms spanning deals, advisory and restructuring capabilities.

We deliver tangible results for global businesses, their investors, and stakeholders when complex problems arise, and critical decisions need to be made. Interpath is agile, independent, and conflict-free, and our passion for doing what’s right, every time, sets us apart.

Our diverse teams provide specialist technical knowledge combined with deep sector experience across our service line specialisms. Since our foundation in 2021, Interpath has grown rapidly, and we now have a presence across the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, BVI, Cayman Islands, Bermuda, Barbados, and Hong Kong. By 2030 we aim to be one of the world’s leading advisory firms with a truly global footprint.

The BVI is principally a holding company jurisdiction and, therefore, due to the global nature of the BVI’s corporate structures, there are typically cross-border issues and some travel may be required.

The role will involve working across a range of assignment types, as highlighted above, and applicants should be ready to be in a client-facing role working in dynamic, flexible and fast-moving environments.

The Associate will be expected to provide excellent client service on a portfolio of cases, working with colleagues on statutory and technical aspects of the insolvency process, and assisting with commercial matters such as realising assets.

The Associate will report to the Senior Associate/Manager.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work alongside Senior Associates and Managers to provide support on corporate insolvency engagements – from pre-appointment planning to completion of all “live” case matters.
  • Assist Senior Associates and Managers on statutory compliance, proactive case progression, and respond promptly and effectively to correspondence and queries on a portfolio of cases.
  • Work with clients and colleagues to identify, ingather and safeguard assets and, thereafter, assisting in executing realisation strategies in order to maximise realisable value.
  • On a case-by-case basis, undertaking appropriate investigations to ascertain the reasons for insolvency and drafting relevant reports thereon for further review.
  • Throughout the life of an insolvency case, drafting correspondence (letters and emails); forms and notices; minutes; file notes; and schedules and analysis of a consistently high standard – and assisting with preparation of statutory and other reports for the attention of creditors and other stakeholders.
  • Interacting closely with colleagues – including engagement leaders – together with third-party stakeholders (including directors, employees and creditors) and appointed agents.
  • Attend client presentations and meetings where appropriate.
  • Develop and understanding of risk frameworks.
  • Develop technical knowledge.

Requirements

  • A University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related fields is preferable but not essential.
  • Business experience preferred– preferably in dealing with key business stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and directors; and with financial matters/aspects.
  • A keen interest in commercial and financial matters – and an ability to contribute to strategies which maximise returns in insolvency scenarios.
  • A consistently professional manner.
  • Good time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks with changing deadlines – whilst remaining calm and focused.
  • Drive, enthusiasm, and commitment to learn and develop.
  • A proactive and conscientious approach – in order that your work is produced to a consistently high standard, in terms of quality, accuracy and effectiveness.
  • An ability to communicate confidently, articulately and effectively with colleagues and third parties alike.
  • An ability to work individually or as part of a team and participate and contribute to local team meetings and initiatives.
  • An ability to critically assess tasks and to present alternative solutions, where appropriate.
  • An ability and willingness to form lasting business relationships.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Good written skills and can prepare documents with guidance, direction, and support

Belongers or BVI Islanders preferred.
