Primary Function of Position:
Joining Intuitive Surgical means joining a team dedicated to using technology to benefit patients by improving surgical efficacy and decreasing surgical invasiveness, with patient safety as our highest priority.
This role is responsible for managing, securing, and supporting our macOS environment within a large-scale, mixed-platform enterprise. The Mac Systems Administrator will ensure that Apple devices are deployed, integrated, and maintained according to corporate standards, with a strong focus on security, compliance, and user productivity.
Roles and Responsibilities:
This position has responsibility and authority for:
- Administer and support the enterprise fleet of macOS devices across global business units.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Apple devices using enterprise-grade MDM solutions.
- Ensure compliance with corporate IT and security policies, including encryption, identity management, and endpoint protection.
- Manage patching, application deployments, and OS updates through automated workflows.
- Integrate macOS systems into enterprise infrastructure, including networking, Active Directory/Azure AD, SSO, and collaboration tools.
- Partner with IT security to enforce policies (FileVault, CIS benchmarks, certificate management).
- Provide Tier 3 escalation support for Mac-related issues and collaborate with other IT Support teams.
- Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and system inventories to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Participate in IT projects, system migrations, and technology rollouts impacting Apple endpoints.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the employee Mac experience within the enterprise ecosystem.
