Sr Engineering Manager, XR

Primary Function of Position

• The Sr Engineering Manager, XR, is responsible for leading a technical
• product team creating training applications for surgical robotic systems.
• This role combines hands-on technical leadership with team management,
• guiding the development of interactive experiences across a variety of
• delivery platforms to increase access to best-in-class training for customers
• around the world.
• Success in this role will be measured by the team's ability to consistently
• deliver reliable training applications on schedule, user adoption and
• training effectiveness metrics, and the development of a cohesive, high-
• performing technical team.
• The ideal candidate has passion for architecting and coding complex
• technical solutions with Unity, experience managing products from start to
• end user delivery, and talent for developing high-performing technical
• teams.

Essential Job Duties

• Lead the architecture of Unity-based interactive training applications, ensuring scalable solutions that are reliable and accessible across modalities such as VR and AR
• Hands-on development of efficient, physics-based simulations in Unity
• Write clear, maintainable code and help shape technical standards that support team success
• Mentor and guide the software development team, fostering a collaborative culture where ideas are valued and continuous improvement is encouraged
• Explore opportunities to use AI in ways that enhance development workflows and elevate user experience
• Guide project planning, sprint execution, and milestone delivery in a steady, organized, and predictable way
• Stay current with XR, AI, and Unity developments, especially those that strengthen quality and usability across devices
