Job Overview
Role Summary:
The Surgeon is responsible for managing patient care before, during, and after surgery within a multidisciplinary clinical team. Additionally, the Surgeon will provide clinical leadership within surgical facilities, supporting the Regional Medical Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform surgical interventions, including damage control surgery and emergency procedures, to deliver life, limb, and function-saving treatment.
- Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, specialists, and other medical staff.
- Recognize and document medical conditions and surgical risks.
- Stabilize and support casualties before evacuation by air or land, in collaboration with the ER clinical team if required.
- Liaise with other medical staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Ensure all medical records are properly maintained.
- Provide clinical reporting.
- Support clinical mentoring for staff development.
- Ensure best practices in line with clinical guidelines and SOPs.
- Support the clinical excellence framework under the direction of the Regional Medical Director.
