Job Overview

Job Summary 
Be a part of the Sports business legal team and provide legal support on channels assigned
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Experience working on media rights tenders/documentation related to acquisition of sports media properties.
  • Strong legal acumen to review and interpret complex contracts (particularly sports media rights and slot sale agreements) and to advise on, analyze, and address queries in relation thereof.
  • Providing support on operational queries from the business team, including on key tasks such as: (a) operationalization of sports properties, (b) general advisory, (c) correspondence with licensor boards, and (d) conducting periodic rights analyses.
  • Providing advisory on ad sales initiatives such as branded content, sales activations, event campaigns etc. and overseeing day-to-day approvals for ad creatives.
  • Handling marketing activations for sports properties, including advisory for campaigns approvals, promotional requests and contests.
  • Ability to contribute to highly time-sensitive, high-value, and critical projects, including complex sports media rights bids.
  • Summarizing key provisions across various sports-related agreements and assisting in maintaining online tracking systems.
  • Drafting and effectively navigating a wide range of contracts, including talent, endorsement, agency, sub-licensing, distribution, ad sales, production and other service or operational agreements, in collaboration with business teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate both internally and externally, including with legal and business/operational teams, while providing day-to-day legal guidance on diverse matters.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in contract law, intellectual property rights (including copyright), gaming laws, and advertising laws.
 
Key Skills

  • Strong drafting and negotiating skills.
 
Preferred Education & Experience
  • LLB Graduate
  • 4-7 years post qualification experience
  • Strong IP laws background and/or from Tier 1 law firms (having extensive M&A/General Corporate experience)
  • Prior sports legal experience.
