Job Overview

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Utilities Applications DBA with proven expertise in supporting Oracle Utilities applications (CC&B, MWM, MOM, SOA). The candidate must have strong skills in OUAF and Oracle DBA practices, with at least 5 years of database administration experience. This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical utility systems.



This is a long-term contract in PST time zone - potential travel (low), no onsite work.

References will be requested upon selection to move forward. This is a pass/fail requirement.



Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle RAC Databases for CC&B, MWM, SOA, and related Oracle Utilities products.
  • Administer Oracle Utilities environments, ensuring reliability, availability, and performance.
  • Perform database performance tuning, schema maintenance, backup/recovery, patching, and refresh operations.
  • Manage schema creation, indexing strategies, partitioning, and query optimization within OUAF environments.
  • Implement and monitor database security, access controls, auditing, and PII data security.
  • Support high-availability and disaster recovery solutions (RAC, Data Guard, Golden Gate).
  • Work closely with application developers, architects, and system administrators to optimize interactions.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, resolve incidents, and coordinate with Oracle for service requests.
  • Participate in database migrations, upgrades, and environment refreshes.
  • Maintain documentation, standards, and procedures for database administration.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Oracle DBA experience, with at least 3 years supporting Oracle Utilities applications.
  • Strong experience with OUAF schema management and CC&B CISADM schema operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle engineered systems (Exadata, ZDLRA, ZFS, ODA).
  • Expertise in database tuning, high availability, and DR strategies.
  • Familiarity with data scrambling, production-to-test refreshes, and PII compliance.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
