The Role

As a Design Engineer, you will be central to translating project requirements into detailed,

buildable designs using advanced CAD/BIM workflows. You will collaborate across

departments—working alongside project managers, site teams, and estimators—to ensure our

designs are technically sound, cost-effective, and aligned with client and company standards.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD/BIM models of roofing and cladding systems.
  • Produce technical drawings: plans, sections, elevations, detail sheets, schedules, and fabrication-ready outputs.
  • Visualize design concepts and prepare client-facing presentations/renderings.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and survey information to inform design.
  • Coordinate design activities with project managers, estimators, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure constructability.
  • Manage digital drawing files, maintain drawing registers, issue logs, and revision control.
  • Conduct technical checks for compliance with building regulations, performance standards, and quality requirements.
  • Assist with value engineering and optimize designs for material efficiency, cost- effectiveness, and performance.
  • Support development and implementation of BIM workflows and digital component libraries.
  • Participate in site visits and design review meetings as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering, BIM, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in building envelope design, with at least 3 years focused on roofing and cladding (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with BIM workflows and related software is desirable.
  • Strong technical and detailing skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills—able to convey complex designs clearly to clients and project teams.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated team player who takes initiative and works well under pressure.
  • Full, clean driver’s licence—occasional site visits required.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
