Senior Rust Engineer (Remote - EU)

As a Senior Rust Engineer, you will be at the forefront of developing secure and high-performance infrastructure for the blockchain ecosystem. You will contribute to building cutting-edge features that enhance the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), enforce on-chain security protocols, and optimize system performance. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, novel problems while shipping robust Rust code to production. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, influence the technical roadmap, and have a direct impact on the security and reliability of decentralized applications. The position is remote, allowing flexibility while engaging with an innovative and fast-moving engineering environment.

Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain complex Rust-based systems with a focus on performance and benchmarking.
• Extend the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) with security-focused features and optimize parallel processing.
• Collaborate effectively across teams to deliver features, support bug fixes, and review code.
• Contribute to the open-source crypto infrastructure and implement security assertions to safeguard applications.
• Share innovative ideas to shape the technical roadmap and improve engineering practices.
• Ensure code quality, robustness, and scalability in a high-performance environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in shipping and maintaining complex Rust code in production environments.
• Deep understanding of Rust language and ecosystem; Rust is your primary programming language.
• Strong knowledge of the Ethereum ecosystem, EVM, and execution layer, with hands-on experience in Ethereum infrastructure.
• Expertise in low-level system programming, parallel computing architectures, memory management, and performance optimization.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
• Nice to have: experience in MEV infrastructure, HFT systems, real-time data processing, database design, Ethereum client development, system reliability engineering (SRE), lock-free algorithms, SIMD or CPU-level optimizations, and blockchain architectures such as Ethereum Rollups.
