We are seeking an experienced Staff Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable IT infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments. In this role, you will drive automation, optimize system reliability, and ensure robust security practices while collaborating with developers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver high-performing cloud solutions. You will implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), manage CI/CD pipelines, and leverage scripting skills to automate repetitive tasks. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency, security, and scalability of critical IT operations. This position offers remote work flexibility with occasional on-site presence near one of our offices, fostering a collaborative yet adaptable work environment.
Accountabilities
· Design, build, and maintain IT infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.
· Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible to automate provisioning and configuration.
· Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, or similar languages for deployments, monitoring, and repetitive tasks.
· Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate IaC into DevOps workflows to streamline development and deployment.
· Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure for reliability, security, and performance.
· Apply security best practices including access controls, firewalls, vulnerability scans, and compliance with NIST/FISMA standards.
· Collaborate with developers, architects, and business teams to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable cloud solutions.
· Participate in technical screening, system design discussions, and culture-fit evaluations as part of the hiring process.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
· 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering.
· 7+ years of scripting/coding experience (Python, PowerShell, Ansible, etc.).
· Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation.
· Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS, Lambda, CloudWatch); Azure experience is a plus.
· Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus, SonarQube.
· Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
· Solid understanding of networking, Linux/Windows servers, virtualization, and storage systems.
· Knowledge of cloud security best practices and federal security standards (NIST, FISMA).
· Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
· Relevant certifications (AWS/Azure Architect, Terraform Associate) are a plus.
· Ability to obtain MBI clearance.
