Role Overview
The Electrical Technician is responsible for the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of all electrical systems integrated into custom event fabrications, props, and structural builds. This role requires a technically competent professional who can work safely with low and high-voltage systems, LED and lighting rigs, control panels, and power distribution units within tight project deadlines in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Installation: Install wiring, conduit, junction boxes, lighting fixtures, LED strips, and power distribution systems within custom event builds and props.
- System Design: Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical specifications to plan and execute installations accurately.
- Lighting Integration: Install and programme DMX-controlled lighting, LED systems, and decorative electrical elements in collaboration with design and project teams.
- Testing & Commissioning: Test all electrical installations for safety, functionality, and compliance before handover to the project team.
- Fault Diagnosis & Repair: Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently under deadline pressure with minimal disruption to project timelines.
- Power Distribution: Set up and manage temporary power distribution for events, ensuring safe and adequate supply to all installations.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electrical work complies with IEC standards, local regulations, and event safety protocols; maintain full documentation.
- On-Site Support: Attend event sites for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of electrical systems.
- Inventory Management: Maintain stock of electrical components, cables, and consumables; report shortfalls to project management.
