Job Overview

Our Outside School Hours Care service, Stretton State College Helping Hands, is looking for a passionate Assistant Coordinator to assist with managing the service and providing engaging programs for our primary-age children.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity offering 20 hours per week to assist with leading a team of passionate Educators. You'll work Monday to Friday in split shifts across our programs:

  • Rise then Shine Program – Morning shifts (6:15am – 9:00am)
  • Stay and Play Program – Afternoon shifts (2:00pm – 6:15pm)
  • Holiday HQ Program – Extra hours available during school holidays (6:30am – 6:00pm)

About Helping Hands Stretton

Stretton Helping Hands is a large, vibrant OSHC service providing Before School Care, After School Care, and Holiday HQ programs for up to 300 children in the afternoons and 210 children during mornings and school holidays. With two dedicated OSHC buildings, extensive access to the school's indoor and outdoor spaces, and age-based groups, educators are empowered to lead engaging programs for their own group while receiving ongoing support and mentoring from the leadership team.

About your new role

As an Assistant Coordinator, you’ll help lead a team of passionate Educators and oversee an engaging before- and after-school program for children aged 5-12 years. This role is all about leadership: 

  • Design and help lead a vibrant, child‑centred program, filled with engaging experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, arts and crafts.
  • Assist with rosters, daily operations, compliance, and administration.
  • Build a positive, inclusive team culture where Educators feel supported, motivated, and proud of the program they deliver.
  • Partner with families, the school community, and internal stakeholders to ensure the service continues to grow and thrive.
  • Be supported by an experienced Coordinator and Regional Manager, so you’re never doing it alone.
