Job Overview


Position Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for safely setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC fabrication equipment to produce high-quality steel components used in trailer manufacturing. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and a commitment to producing accurate, quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Set up and operate Press Brake and/or CNC Burn Table equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and production documentation.
  • Verify material specifications and dimensions before processing.
  • Produce parts that meet quality and dimensional specifications.
  • Perform routine machine adjustments and minor troubleshooting.
  • Conduct quality inspections using measuring tools and gauges.
  • Load, unload, and organize raw materials and finished components.
  • Work with production, welding, and fabrication teams to meet production schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Report equipment issues, material shortages, or quality concerns to supervision.


Required Qualifications 

  • 2–3 years of experience operating manufacturing or fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to read tape measures and perform basic shop mathematics.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.


Preferred (but not required): 

  • Experience operating a Press Brake (strongly preferred).
  • Experience operating CNC Burn Tables
  • Experience reading blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Experience in steel fabrication, heavy manufacturing, or trailer manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with overhead cranes and material handling equipment.

Schedule & Work Details 

  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday. 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
  • Location: Penticton, BC
  • Environment: Industrial manufacturing environment, shop floor and office.
