  • Manage employee relations cases (performance, grievance, disciplinary) with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ensure local compliance in Malta while aligning global People practices with company standards.
  • Keep policies, procedures, and contracts up to date across your portfolio.

People Operations

  • Own the employee lifecycle for Malta: onboarding, probation, payroll inputs/validation, benefits, performance cycles, and offboarding.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate and monitor performance management cycles across Malta and your functional portfolio, supporting PDPs, PIPs, and review processes.
  • Ensure smooth and consistent delivery of People processes for employees in your global functions.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders in Tech, Marketing, and Finance across Spain, London, South Africa, and Nigeria.
  • Partner with managers to provide day-to-day people advisory, helping them handle employee queries, performance issues, and team dynamics.
  • Influence with credibility and ensure alignment between local People practices and global business needs.

Culture, Engagement & Development

  • Act as a culture champion, embedding our CROWNS values across Malta and your assigned functions.
  • Drive engagement initiatives and team-building activities that support collaboration and employee well-being.
  • Partner with managers to identify engagement opportunities and implement practical solutions.
  • Support change management and organisational development projects to improve employee experience and retention.

Collaboration & Projects

  • Work closely with People Partners in other hubs to ensure consistency, share best practices, and deliver global initiatives locally.
  • Contribute to projects that improve HR systems, processes, and employee experience.
  • Use intermediate to advanced AI tools to optimise People operations, reporting, and employee query management.

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ HR experience, with at least 2 in a People Partner / HR Generalist role.
  • Strong knowledge of Maltese employment law, with the ability to apply it in day-to-day situations.
  • Proven experience managing the core People processes: payroll cycles, onboarding, probation, performance management (PDPs, PIPs), grievances, and disciplinary cases.
  • Comfortable advising managers on employee relations matters and guiding them through structured processes.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (especially Finance, Tech, Marketing) and building trusted partnerships.
  • Track record of working in remote and multicultural teams, balancing local compliance with global consistency.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Background in tech, financial services, or gaming industries.
  • Experience running engagement initiatives and team-building activities.
  • Exposure to multi-country HR environments outside Malta.
  • Familiarity with HR systems and intermediate to advanced knowledge of AI tools to improve reporting, processes, and employee experience.
