Your Role and How You Will Contribute:
The Manager, Business Operations of Kingsdale Investor Services Inc. Barbados is responsible for providing and managing shareholder advisory services, people, operations, finance, and administration functions to support Kingsdale’s North American operations and its affiliates.
The Manager oversees the execution of research, analytics, advisory support, and communications for such services as Annual Shareholder Meetings, Plans of Arrangement, Tender Offers, Contested Meetings, and Asset Reclamation.
This role reports to the Management Committee of WeShall Investments Inc.
Requirements
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Shareholder Advisory Support:
- Manage in coordination with the Toronto Shareholder Advisory Team, all Barbados-based research, analytics, advisory support, and client communications.
- Support client engagements such as Annual and General Meetings, Plans of Arrangement, Tender Offers, Contested Meetings, and Asset Reclamation.
- Provide advisory support and analysis using internal databases, models, and reports.
- Ensure campaign timelines and deliverables are met.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Shareholder Advisory in Toronto to ensure cross-office coordination, workflow optimization, and consistent service standards.
Staffing, Operations, and Performance Management:
- Supervise a multidisciplinary team currently of four, providing mentorship and performance feedback.
- Oversee staffing, recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, training, goal setting, performance reviews, and succession planning.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to align with corporate goals.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and quality assurance frameworks.
- Coordinate work requests and monitor deliverables against Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Escalate material issues or risks impacting client mandates to the Management Committee.
Finance and Administration:
- Oversee finance operations, including accounting, contract management, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, data governance, and external regulatory and tax requirements.
- Support financial planning, cost control, and process improvement initiatives.
- Manage internal controls and maintain accurate reporting and analysis.
- Facilities management of office.
Education:
- University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related discipline required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial role within a professional services firm.
- Proven leadership in managing multi-functional teams and fostering a culture of high performance.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple mandates under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of finance and accounting principles and practices.
- Experience in proxy solicitation, shareholder advisory, corporate finance and/or legal experience considered an asset.
- Established relationships within corporate, legal, and financial communities.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and forecasting abilities.
- Strong understanding of shareholder voting processes, corporate governance, and capital markets.
- Exceptional communication and relationship management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and data management tools.
