Your Role & How You Will Contribute
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Corporate Actions team in a junior capacity. This role supports the setup and processing of corporate action events and provides administrative and operational assistance to ensure smooth execution of transactions.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and tracking of voluntary and mandatory corporate action events under the guidance of senior team members.
- Support the preparation of event documentation, including timetables, holder lists, and basic reporting.
- Help review issuer documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain spreadsheets and databases used for transaction processing.
- Monitor and follow up on shareholder submissions to ensure completeness and compliance.
- Respond to basic shareholder and bondholder inquiries via email or phone, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Assist with reconciliation of data between internal records and external systems (e.g., CDS, DTC).
- Participate in internal audits by reviewing documentation and logging discrepancies.
- Help maintain internal logs and organize physical and digital records related to securities.
- Provide administrative support to the Corporate Actions team, assisting with documentation, coordination, and day-to-day operational tasks.
- Participate in internal projects focused on improving operational efficiency, contributing ideas, feedback, and support to process improvement projects.
Qualifications & Skills
- 0–2 years of experience in financial services, operations, or a related field.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Basic understanding of financial instruments and corporate actions is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Enrollment in or interest in completing the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) is a plus.
