Your Role & How You Will Contribute
As a member of Shareholder Advisory Group team, the Analyst is responsible for full range of research, analysis through the use of databases, electronic spreadsheets, presentations, and detailed reports for public companies, advisory services, and communications on client files. Types of client engagements include shareholder services for Canadian & U.S. public company Annual Shareholder Meetings, Plan of Arrangements, Tender Offers, Contested Meetings, and Asset Reclamation. The Analyst will participate in multiple Kingsdale business lines including proxy solicitation, strategic & defense advisory, shareholder identification, governance advisory and voting analytics.
Requirements
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide clients with advisory services and analysis using internal models, databases, presentation decks and detailed reports
- Conduct outreach to shareholders, brokers and financial institutions
- Communicate and document key messaging to shareholders
- Engage shareholders to participate in our various programs
- Perform in-depth research to locate contact information for shareholders
- Meet campaign targets and deadlines, report issues, concerns, and objections that materially affect the client's mandate
- Maintain the in-house filing system (electronic/ hard copy) of pertinent client materials
- Aggregate and compile market intelligence, monitor shareholder positions and trading activities
- Contribute to vulnerability analyses for contested situations and transactions
- Prepare and interpret proxy voting reports for numerous public issuers annual and special shareholder meetings
- Analyze and reconcile vote discrepancies
- Act as a liaison between intermediaries, transfer agents and custodians, exercising a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Review market news regarding executive compensation, corporate governance, environmental and social matters
- Monitor and analyze proxy voting guidelines, voting recommendations, and voting records of proxy advisors and institutional shareholders
- Contact third party experts to obtain information on governance-related items
- Prepare client presentations and analysis for circulars and PowerPoint presentations
- Other ad hoc duties and projects as required
Qualifications

- Ability to handle multichannel communications with shareholders including inbound, outbound, email and chat
- Experienced team player with strong analytical and critical thinking, problem solving and conflict resolution skills

- Strong listening and influencing skills, detail-oriented and observant
- Accurately document interactions and produce high quality deliverables
- Adapt to changing conditions related to workload and work in high pressure situations
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite(Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Enjoys working in a client-focused, structured and goal-oriented environment
- Follows direction, works independently with little supervision and manage multiple priorities
- Passion for research and strong proficiency in extracting and compiling data
- Must have excellent attendance and meet shift expectations
Education
- University or College education in finance, business or related discipline preferred
- Experience in data analysis, asset recovery industry or collections, different forms of online research, or similar role
