Maine Course Hospitality Group (MCHG) is seeking an HR & Administrative Generalist, to join a dynamic, multi-property management company in scenic Freeport, Maine. This full-time, office-based role offers occasional flexibility to work from home and plays a key part in supporting HR, accounting, and administrative operations. We’re looking for someone who has payroll experience and is collaborative, compassionate, and brings a great sense of humor to the workplace.

Maine Course Hospitality Group (MCHG) is seeking an HR & Administrative Generalist, to join a dynamic, multi-property management company in scenic Freeport, Maine. This full-time, office-based role offers occasional flexibility to work from home and plays a key part in supporting HR, accounting, and administrative operations. We’re looking for someone who has payroll experience and is collaborative, compassionate, and brings a great sense of humor to the workplace.
Requirements of the HR & Administrative Generalist:
- 3+ years of prior experience in Payroll and Human Resources
- Accounting, or administrative support—hotel management experience a plus
- Familiarity with Paylocity is preferred but not required
- Experience with M3, and/or Concur, a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong software skills, and an interest in learning and applying software to improve efficiency and eliminate manual tasks
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively across departments
- Ability to commute daily to Freeport Maine
- Ability to occasionally travel to properties in and out of state for meetings

Responsibilities of the HR & Administrative Generalist:
- Process weekly payroll across multiple states
- Develop and maintain monthly payroll reconciliation reports
- Assist with expansion and deployment of Paylocity
- Approve and monitor weekly benefit plan changes
- Maintain accurate employee records for benefit enrollment and termination activities
- Support the onboarding process for new hires and manager
- Maintain HR records, employee directories and office communication materials
- Provide general administrative support to the corporate office team
- Open, sort and distribute mail
- Order and manage office supplies
- Assist with licensing renewals and annual report filings, and support other clerical functions in the accounting department
- Provide administrative support for property and casualty insurance claims
- Coordinate with brokers and accountants on insurance renewals and reporting
