Job Overview
- HTS (HIV testing service) & Linkages
- Conduct HTS counseling according to LPK guidelines and protocols - including HIV group counseling, Mobile HTS whenever applicable.
- Facilitate linkage to ART with proper referral process and follow-up for service confirmation of newly diagnosed HIV (+) cases.
- Conduct counseling sessions with LPK methods and tools – including HTS, ART adherence counseling, psychological support, use of IEC materials, Pamphlets, and visual aids (flipcharts) whenever appropriate.
- Collaborate with other colleagues (Medical Officer, Online team and Outreach team) internally as necessary.
- Provide HTS Pre-test counseling to support clients to make a voluntary decision after being well-informed.
- Identify index clients and facilitate the Index Testing by following the LPK procedures.
- Deliver proper post-test counseling for containing emotions of HIV diagnosed cases and support Linkage to ART (educate positive living, Pre ART, and sustain adherence).
- Linkage to PrEP
- Provide PrEP information as one of the HIV prevention supports to all eligible clients who are sharing certain risk behaviours in the community.
- Provide Pre-PrEP screening (substantial risk assessment) during HTS Pre-test counseling services and proceed with referral for PrEP initiation if client shows interest.
- Provide clients with a good concept of who should get PrEP prevention and a good understanding of the meaning of discontinuation after prior informed consent to LPK.
- Conduct PrEP counseling according to LPK guidelines and protocols whenever applicable
- Conduct to accomplish the PrEP cascade.
- Sexual and Reproductive Health Counseling
- Offer Comprehensive Sexual Health Education (CSE) such as information on safe sex practices, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and available contraceptives.
- Guide and support clients in family planning decisions by providing client-centred care and by respecting their reproductive health rights.
- Provide immediate and ongoing psychosocial support for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and ensure that the survivors are being referred to specialised service providers for legal assistance, medical care, and long-term counseling, creating a seamless and holistic support network.
- Mental Health Counseling
- Deliver MHPSS screening to clients with a standard checklist to clients who are suspected of Mental health-related complaints.
- Provide specific mental health intervention that is practised in LPK as per the result of screening and/or next level referral in need of MHPSS counseling to distressed and anxious people who are also living with HIV.
- TG-Specific Hormone Counseling (Gender-Affirming Care)
- Screen the Transgender clients for Gender Dysphoria and its impacts on their daily lives.
- Provide accurate, up-to-date, and evidence-based information and education to transgender individuals regarding safe and healthy use of hormone medication.
- Emphasize the dangers of over-the-counter drugs which are not recommended for the gender affirming and highlight the importance of medical supervision.
- Other Duties
- Actively participate in the programs implemented by Lan Pya Kyel.
- Record daily forms and documents and prepare reports on time.
- Support the LPK Online Team and Outreach Team as needed.
