Position Summary
The CMM Programmer is responsible for programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect and validate precision-manufactured components. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in CMM programming, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and optimize CMM inspection programs for complex mechanical components
Program and analyze measurement data using industry-standard CMM software
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to define inspection requirements
Perform dimensional inspections to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards
Analyze inspection results and identify measurement or quality issues
Troubleshoot and resolve CMM programming and measurement discrepancies
Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and verification of CMM equipment
Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and supporting documentation
Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to improve inspection processes
Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Proven experience as a CMM Programmer in a manufacturing or engineering environment
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical certification or formal training in CMM programming or a related field preferred
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency with CMM programming software (PCDMIS or similar preferred)
Experience working with various CMM machines and precision measurement tools
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models
Strong understanding of GD&T and dimensional inspection principles

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
