About the Role
The Import Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing end-to-end operational execution in support of customer accounts and import activities. This role supervises a small team while also serving as an individual contributor on select accounts to ensure seamless PO processing, factory coordination, documentation accuracy, and cross-functional communication. Our Operations Lead ensures operational excellence across order management, booking coordination, packaging/spec approvals, and factory debit management and acts as a critical bridge between Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and Overseas Manufacturing partners.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee receipt, review, and processing of customer Purchase Orders, ensuring corresponding Sales Orders are accurately entered and maintained in NetSuite.
- Supervise and develop a small team, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and timely execution of all order management processes.
- Manage PO submissions to factories and resolve discrepancies, shortages, pricing issues, or compliance concerns in partnership with Sales and Supply Chain.
- Proactively communicate inventory cuts, order risks, and production updates to Sales and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Act as the operational lead and individual contributor for select customer accounts, directly managing end-to-end PO and import coordination.
- Oversee bookings and ensure accuracy and completeness of all commercial documents required for import (invoices, packing lists, compliance documentation, etc.).
- Monitor factory debits and manage the approval or dispute process in collaboration with Finance and overseas partners.
- Review and approve spec and packaging submissions, ensuring packaging and product specifications meet customer and compliance requirements.
- Oversee the creation and accuracy of customer-specific carton markings and ensure proper documentation is distributed to factories.
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance visibility across domestic operations.
Who You Are
- 6+ years experience in operations, supply chain, import/export, order management, or customer operations, preferably in the consumer goods industry
- 1+ years of experience managing a team preferred
- Proven experience working with international manufacturing partners and managing import documentation.
- Strong ERP proficiency (NetSuite preferred; SAP/Oracle or similar acceptable). Knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills.

Leapfrog is currently operating under a hybrid work model, and this position will report on site to our Lincoln Park office at least 2 days per week. Salary Band
$80,000 - 90,000, full-time, salaried, exempt, hybrid

This approach is designed to set realistic expectations while providing employees with the opportunity for growth and development within their roles. Placement toward the higher end of the band may be considered based on relevant experience, specialized skills, and other qualifications.
