Cooking Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Video Instruction Recording

We are seeking experienced Cooking Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to participate in recorded video sessions providing expert instruction and practical guidance in Cooking. As an SME, you will lead a recorded video call where only the learner is on camera to teach and explain specific cooking topics — ultimately helping learners understand real-world cooking principles, techniques, and decision-making processes. This is a remote, contract-based project ideal for cooking professionals who have prior teaching experience and enjoy communicating cooking concepts clearly and engagingly.

Responsibilities: Participate in recorded video sessions (30-60 minutes each), offering expert guidance and instruction on a variety of topics as requested by the learner. Run online software (step-by-step instructions will be provided) designed to capture the session and create the individual files which will be delivered to the client. Demonstrate professional reasoning and methods across a variety of design challenges — such as layout, materials, lighting, color, and spatial planning.

Communicate principles clearly to learners who may be new to the subject.

Collaborate with project management to ensure your content aligns with session goals and production standards. Maintain an engaging and approachable presence while providing actionable, real-time insights. Must be able to think on your feet and adapt to whatever situations/questions the learners might present without advance notice of the topics.

Requirements:

Professional background in Cooking (e.g., degree, certification, or extensive professional experience). Prior teaching, mentoring, or training experience in cooking — at a school, workshop, or online learning platform. Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.

Project Details Type: Contract / Freelance Details: Expect 4-10 individual sessions with different learners. Time Investment: Expect about 4-10 hours total.
