At LinkedIn Austria, the Senior Video Editor will be working with the Editing Supervisor focusing on the Spanish, Portuguese, German and French, markets. This is a key role in developing, testing and ensuring the effective implementation of instructions and new processes across the Post Production team. The Senior Video Editor is also responsible for the inclusion, updating and training of new editors to current standards and new practices.
Responsibilities
Prepare and edit footage (screen capture / live action / B-roll) of varying complexities which require additional levels of techniques and procedural development
Integrate different emphasizing techniques (slides, overlays, graphics and instructional focusing technique) while ensuring overall consistency of a course, highest quality editing standards and optimum end-user experience
Perform color grading on inconsistent live footage
Ensure the video presents the author’s instruction clearly with concise phrasing and a smooth, even flow by removing unnecessary rephrases, pauses, and other audible distractions and restructuring phrasing as required
Review and fix editing bugs. Lead and edit time-critical projects
Review own work and work of others to ensure delivery of a superior product
Manage/balance multiple projects when assigned and effectively prioritize the schedule as necessary to ensure on time completion and delivery of assignments
Communicate clearly with Supervisor and key stakeholders (producer, director, audio engineer, graphics team) to ensure successful handoffs throughout the post production process
Review relevant course raw assets prior to editing. Define the initial method for editorial approach, outlining specific areas such as green-screen, focus technique usage (pan/zoom/highlight/halo), overlay application and usage of b-rolls. Distribute ‘pre-edit’ notes to vendors if needed
Develop a solid foundation for thinking and working with unconventional editorial structures and non-linear storytelling formats
Encourage development of new editorial techniques. Actively maintain awareness and education of the latest trends and tools related to post production
