The Windows System Administrator will support the Air National Guard’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft Squadron Operations Center as part of a diverse team responsible for managing a globally distributed information system. In this role, you will perform analysis, administration, and maintenance of mission‑critical data communication networks that enable RPA operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier I & II support for a globally distributed information system, including user assistance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Manage the functionality, efficiency, and security of Windows‑based systems and servers across multiple operating environments.
  • Configure, administer, and maintain servers within a VMware virtualized infrastructure.
  • Create and manage administrator and service accounts, ensuring proper access controls and security compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and change records.
  • Evaluate user needs and vendor products, and make recommendations for hardware and software procurement.
  • Coordinate installation, upgrades, and backup/recovery processes while ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Develop and enforce policies, standards, and best practices related to computing resource allocation and system usage.
  • Plan, execute, and document system testing strategies to validate performance, security, and functionality.
  • Train and advise end‑users on system features, capabilities, and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and less-experienced staff.
  • Support local on‑call/call‑back requirements and provide hands‑on technical assistance as needed.
  • Apply and maintain STIGs, patches, and firmware updates to ensure cybersecurity compliance.
  • Manage and maintain email and database servers to ensure reliable availability and performance.
