Job Overview
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementation of SHE Policy of the company.
- Develop and implement Onsite emergency action plan.
- Prepare MIS Data and update the management on the status of the occupational health and safety program.
- To collate and analyze accident statistics and recommend intervention strategies to eliminate/reduce the risk of future occurrence and incidents of ill health and lost working days.
- Proper implementation of work permit system and review it from time to time.
- Monitoring & ensure proper functioning of firefighting equipment.
- Review the safety system on basis of Safety Audits and Mock Drills conducted periodically.
- Take precautionary measures w.r.t. employee / contractor health & hygiene in consultation with company’s occupational health consultant.
- Maintain liaison with government agencies and filing of various returns as applicable.
- Inspect machinery and equipment, such as lifting devices, machine shields and scaffolding, to make sure they meet safety regulations and keep records of the same.
- Make sure that personal protective equipment, such as safety shoes, nose- masks, safety glasses, and safety helmets, is being used in workplaces according to regulations.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of hazardous materials.
- Investigation of accidents and unsafe working conditions/ actions, near miss study possible causes and recommend remedial action.
- Conduct training sessions for management, supervisors and workers on health, environment and safety practices and legislation to increase awareness at all levels in the plant.
- To prepare budget for the operations of safety, occupational health and environment management.
- To build a safety committee as per applicable rules, organize meetings and get feedback for necessary corrective actions.
- Co-ordinate for removal of waste as per Environmental regulations.
- To understand global SHE requirement and follow the global guidelines
- To provide active support to SHE Management system implementation for critical items work permit system, accident /incident reporting, safety training etc. Provide support to organization to meet SHE target.
- Communicate and enforce the Food Quality and Food Safety Management policy.
- Maintain the Integrated Management System of your area.
- Define and communicate the functions and responsibilities of the personnel under their responsibility in relation to the Food Safety Management System.
- Monitor corrective actions arising from notifications of incidents or risks, audits, inspections of control bodies, customer complaints, etc. Check the closing of the shares.
- Ensure that investigations and analysis of the cause of incidents and non-conformities occurred in your area are carried out.
- Ensure that the personnel under their responsibility comply with the provisions of the emergency plan, participate in simulations and know their functions.
- Ensure compliance and maintenance of good hygiene practices in the area under your responsibility.
- Perpetuate the Integrated Management System of your area.
- Define and communicate the roles and responsibilities of the team to which it leads in relation to the Food Safety Management System.
- Comply with and ensure compliance and maintenance of GMP - Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Comply with the company's Quality Policy;
- Perform Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
- Comply with requirements affecting traceability.
- Take direct responsibility for overseeing the security opeartions at the Koppa Plant.
- Support the development of SOPs and protocols for strengthening plant security.
- Ensure collaboration with plant management for day-to-day matters related to security and routine monitoring.
- Report observations related to external warehouse security to concerned departments for corrective action.
- Address SHE and security-related CCTV observations flagged by CROM.
- Coordinate with concerned departments for resolution of maintenance/process-related issues flagged via CCTV by CROM Team.
- Conduct monthly SHE visits to external warehouses and Preparation and actionable reports post-visit.
- Collaborate with management for closure and timely implementation of recommended actions.
Experience
- Minimum 3 plus years’ experience in the field of SHE
Other skills (Computer Skills, etc)
- Strong working knowledge related to SHE.
- Very good in technical skills and analytical mindset
- Good in project management.
- Good communicator / negotiator
- Team Lead & Good people management skills
- Descent work knowledge of MS office, especially MS-Excel, MS Project management.

Academics
- As specified in the Factories Act, 1948:- Possesses a recognized degree in any branch of Engineering or Technology and has practical Experience of working in any factory in a supervisory capacity for a period of not less than 2 years.
- Possesses a recognized diploma in any branch of Engineering or Technology or a recognized degree in Physic or Chemistry and has a practical experience of working in any factories in a supervisory capacity for a period of not less than 3 years.
