Job Overview

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Loads and unloads trucks and railcars with products, using computerized control stations, meters and scales. Ensures the timely receipt and delivery of all handled products.
  • Loads and unloads flammable liquids
  • Loads and unloads Hazardous materials ie; Acids, Bases and corrosives.
  • Inspects material handling equipment and performs routine adjustments and maintenance as required. 
  • Ensures compliance with Company safety rules and wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) as required in fulfillment of assigned responsibilities. 
  • Responds to equipment issues or alarms; investigates and initiates resolutions.
  • Log in and startup of the GMS compuweigh system
  • Operates BDTF, BDTF Chem, and EHTF using HMI computerized controls
  • Identify product flow from storage tanks to truck and to rail
  • Change filter socks in BDTF Loadout Filter Pods
  • Fill out daily truck/rail log sheet
  • Complete daily shipments tab on the inventory spreadsheet
  • Complete daily inspection of locomotive/or/shuttle wagon and fill out the log sheet

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensures work area is kept clean and free from safety hazards.
  • Completes tasks as assigned by plant superintendents and Shift Leaders.   
  • Participates and completes all required training, including Safety and Food Safety
  • Complete Rail Engine Operator certification for level 1 Rail Op

Working Conditions

  • Continuous 24/7 plant operation. Regular exposure to (a) a variety of temperatures, (b) prevailing weather conditions, (c) gases, vapors, dust, odors and flammable liquids, (d) areas with wet floors and high volume of noise.  Lifting of materials and products may be required. Position requires regular stair and ladder use. Extended work weeks may be required twice a year during maintenance shutdowns.
  • Personal Protective Equipment will be worn in compliance with Company standards and government regulations. Call-ins or the extension of regular working hours are occasionally necessary to complete time-sensitive projects, attend training, cover other shifts, to respond to emergencies or perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
  • For All:  Extensions of regular working hours are occasionally necessary to complete time-sensitive projects or to respond to emergencies. 
  • For all Plant Positions:  Periodic visits to industrial operations areas are necessary with exposure to variety of temperatures and prevailing weather conditions.
