Tl;dr
We’re hiring our first in-house lawyer. You’ll be the person in the trenches: owning enterprise deals, fixing our contracting engine, and building the day-to-day legal workflows that let Lovable scale without breaking. This isn’t a “big GC” job – it’s a hands-on role for someone who loves rolling up their sleeves, negotiating hard, and putting legal structure in place at high speed.

What we’re looking for
Must-haves:

  • 6–12 years’ legal experience, with at least 2-4 years in-house at a high-growth tech company (Series A–C ideal).

  • Strong commercial contracting + enterprise negotiation skills – you know how to drive deals across the line without losing leverage.

  • Foundation across privacy, IP, corporate, and employment law.

  • Familiarity with US and cross-border contracting.

  • Builder mindset: you enjoy fixing broken templates, designing workflows, and creating clarity in chaos.

  • Bias for action—you’d rather solve and improve than write long memos.

  • Willing to be based in Stockholm (or open to relocate).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in AI, devtools, infra, or other frontier tech companies.

  • Familiarity with global privacy / data laws (GDPR, CCPA, AI Act, SCCs).

  • Exposure to equity programs and corporate governance.

  • Comfort collaborating with sales, product, and exec teams directly.

What you’ll do

  • Enterprise sales enablement: Own redlines, negotiations, and customer legal processes. Be the closer’s ally.

  • Contracting infrastructure: Standardize templates, playbooks, and approval flows. Make contracts fast, repeatable, and scalable.

  • Day-to-day legal ops: Be the go-to lawyer for the company – triage issues, prioritize ruthlessly, and know when to escalate.

  • Risk translator: Turn complex legal questions into clear, practical guidance for product, sales, and leadership.

  • External counsel manager: Use outside firms efficiently, but keep critical calls in-house.

  • Scale prep: Build the systems now (templates, governance, compliance hygiene) that make later audits and fundraising easy.

The Challenge
This is not a job for someone who wants to “manage” or “delegate.” You’ll be hands-on, detail-obsessed, and directly responsible for the nuts and bolts of legal. Think redlines, workflows, contract systems, and day-to-day calls from sales/product. You’ll also have the chance to influence how Lovable’s legal function grows – but only after showing you can get the work done in the trenches first.
